The Opportunity
We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic Major Account Manager to help drive growth across our innovative total waste solutions. Based in Townsville, you’ll play a pivotal role in increasing wallet share, building strong customer partnerships, and unlocking new opportunities across key mining and heavy industry clients.
Based in Townsville, this role offers regular travel across Queensland, to Mount Isa and Mackay, giving you direct exposure to major operations and stakeholders.
What you will do
This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role where your ability to build relationships and drive growth will directly shape business outcomes. You’ll be supported by a collaborative team, exposed to large-scale operations, and empowered to deliver meaningful results. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews with key customers, focusing on revenue performance and operational execution
- Prepare and deliver detailed monthly reports tailored to customer requirements
- Identify and execute opportunities to increase share of wallet across existing accounts
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of upcoming tenders, contributing to tender strategy and preparation
- Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple functions to deliver and track key strategic initiatives aligned to Cleanaway’s Blueprint
About You
You’re a natural relationship builder with a strong commercial instinct and a passion for creating value through meaningful partnerships. You thrive in fast-paced environments, bring energy and initiative to your work, and have a proven ability to translate data and insights into clear, actionable outcomes. You will bring:
- Proven experience managing major or national accounts within complex, regulated environments
- Strong capability in conducting contract reviews and executing agreements linked to KPIs
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders
- Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of business operations and data-driven decision-making
- Experience within mining and/or heavy industry sectors is highly regarded
