The Opportunity 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Planner/Scheduler plays a key role in coordinating workforce resources, maintenance activities, shutdowns, and operational service delivery across major projects. Working closely with operations, engineering, and site teams, you will ensure labour and equipment are effectively planned, scheduled, and deployed to meet business and client requirements. 

This FIFO role is suited to a highly organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing multiple priorities. You will contribute to safe, efficient, and reliable operations by supporting workforce planning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. 

What you will do 

  • Develop and maintain schedules for maintenance, shutdowns, and operational activities. 
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, and resources to meet project and service requirements. 
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and site teams to align work with business priorities. 
  • Coordinating mobilisation, onboarding, site access requirements and travel to site for staff and subcontractor. Updating roster to reflect the above. 
  • Processing, reviewing and submitting timesheets for payroll 
  • Managing training records, compliance documentation, accurate site records and workforce data (resource registers etc.) 
  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changing scopes and resource availability. 
  • Ensure all work is delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with operational standards. 
  • Utilise planning systems, manage stakeholder communication, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 

 

About You 

You are a highly organised and solutions-focused professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. You enjoy problem-solving, building strong working relationships, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Proven experience in workforce planning, scheduling, or resource coordination within an operational environment. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and coordinate multiple teams. 
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, scheduling, and workforce planning systems. 
  • Sound understanding of maintenance planning, resource allocation, and operational processes. 
  • Safety-focused, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously in FIFO or remote site environments.
