The Opportunity

The South East Organics Facility plays a vital role in reducing landfill and supporting Victoria’s circular economy. Using advanced depackaging and decontamination technology, we recover organic material from food waste, decontaminate food and garden organics and transform them into valuable resources.

We’re looking for a strong, collaborative and hands-on Operations Supervisor to optimise the day-to-day running of our depackaging and organics processing operations.

In this role, you’ll lead a small, close-knit team and help create a positive, safe and high-performing environment, leading to smooth and efficient site operations.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading daily operations across depackaging and processing areas
• Coaching, mentoring and developing team members
• Ensuring a strong safety and wellbeing culture
• Ensuring compliance with EPA Victoria and environmental standards
• Monitoring plant performance, quality and contamination levels
• Coordinating maintenance and supporting continuous improvement
• Running toolbox talks and leading a positive team culture
• Forecasting and planning transport, contractors and internal stakeholders

 

About You

We recognise that great candidates come from diverse backgrounds. You might bring experience from waste, manufacturing, logistics, food processing, or similar environments.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience leading a team in an operational environment

• Values safety, teamwork and clear communication
• Takes a practical, hands-on approach and enjoys problem-solving
• Is organised and able to manage day-to-day priorities
• Has an interest in sustainability or resource recovery (highly regarded)
• Brings a willingness to learn – we’ll support your development
