Your Opportunity
Cleanaway’s Commodities Trading Desk is hiring a Commodity Data & Pricing Support Analyst to support the pricing, cash, position and forecasting data that underpins management reporting, market dashboards and commercial decision-making.
Reporting to the Senior Trader and supporting the Head of Commodities, this paid part-time fixed-term opportunity (6 months, 3 days per week) offers practical exposure to commodity markets, Bloomberg data, commercial reporting and pricing analytics within one of Australia’s leading resource recovery businesses.
- Maintain commodity pricing, Bloomberg, cash and position-reporting datasets used by the Commodities Trading Desk and wider markets risk departments.
- Refresh recurring Excel models, dashboards and reporting inputs covering pricing, market activity quantitative analytics, commodity positions and forecasting data.
- Reconcile pricing, data cleansing, volume, cash, position and forecast information across multiple internal data sources.
- Utilise approved AI tools to prepare charts, tables and routine reporting packs for review by the Commodities Trading Desk.
- Maintain documentation covering data sources, assumptions, formulas, version control and reporting processes.
- Support the ongoing development of pricing platforms, dashboards and reporting tools used across Cleanaway's market-facing businesses.
About You
This role would suit a final-year student, postgraduate student, recent graduate or early-career analyst who enjoys working with data, has strong Excel capability and is interested in applying analytical skills in a practical commercial environment. We can consider offering flexibility in working schedule to accommodate study/exam timetables.
- Current study, recent completion, or qualifications in finance, economics, commerce, accounting, business analytics, data analytics, mathematics, supply chain or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven, practical experience of using Excel skills to work with large spreadsheet-based datasets.
- Experience building or maintaining complex, highly technical Excel models.
- Ability to support with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, VBA or Python.
- Exposure to forecasting, pricing, management reporting or dashboards.
- Availability to work three days per week at a fixed-term capacity.
- Interest in recycling, sustainability or commodity and financial markets.
