The Opportunity

Due to an internal movement, we are seeking a commercially minded and operationally focused Branch Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile municipal services contract. You will be responsible for overseeing waste collection, resource recovery, and environmental services while ensuring exceptional customer outcomes, strong contract performance, and safe, efficient operations.

A key focus of the role will be leading the implementation of a newly awarded Food Organics contract, including the mobilisation of additional fleet, workforce planning, and operational readiness. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in shaping service delivery while working closely with council stakeholders and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational, commercial, and financial performance of the municipal services contract, ensuring all KPIs, service standards, and contractual obligations are achieved.
  • Manage and administer the contract, including compliance, reporting, contract variations, governance requirements, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Drive the successful mobilisation and implementation of the new Food Organics collection service, including fleet expansion, workforce planning, and operational readiness.
  • Act as the primary customer interface, building strong relationships with council representatives and ensuring exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and support depot operations, working closely with supervisors and frontline teams to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable services.
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and operational efficiencies while identifying opportunities to enhance profitability and contract outcomes.
  • Champion a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and environmental responsibility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and sustainability objectives.

About You

You are an experienced operational leader with a strong understanding of contract management and stakeholder engagement. You know how to balance customer expectations with operational delivery and have a proven ability to manage complex service contracts in a fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience managing service-based contracts within waste, logistics, utilities, infrastructure, environmental services, or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, contract performance management, governance, and compliance obligations.
  • Experience serving as the primary customer interface, with the ability to build trusted relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Previous experience working with local government, municipal councils, or within a government-contracted service environment is highly regarded.
  • Proven leadership experience managing operational teams, fleet resources, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget management and performance reporting.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
