Technical Manager - Waste Recovery

The Opportunity

Provide technical leadership across two hazardous waste operations sites, helping translate complex chemistry into safe, compliant and commercially sound decisions.  

 

This is a visible, field-based leadership role across our Potassium Street and Krypton Street facilities. You will spend time in active operating areas, working directly with chemists, supervisors and frontline teams.

 

  • Act as the principal technical adviser for waste treatment, acceptance and site operating decisions
  • Lead integration between laboratory, technical and operations teams across multiple sites
  • Assess waste streams, treatment capability and operational constraints to support safe processing decisions
  • Coach technical teams on sampling, QA/QC practices and application of technical data
  • Develop procedures and decision pathways that improve consistency and operational performance
  • Contribute technical expertise to infrastructure, process improvement and site development initiatives

 

About You

You are a scientifically qualified technical leader who enjoys working close to operations and solving practical challenges. You can translate technical information into clear actions while building credibility with frontline teams.

 

  • Degree in Chemistry, Applied Science or a closely related scientific discipline
  • Experience applying chemistry within an industrial, environmental, hazardous materials or operational setting
  • Strong understanding of sampling, laboratory analysis and QA/QC principles
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical information and convert it into operational decisions
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical leadership to others
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, waste treatment, chemical compatibility or related processing activities
