About the Role

At Cleanaway, we’re looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team and play an important role in helping our business make informed, commercially sound decisions.

Open to applications from both Brisbane and Melbourne, you’ll partner with leaders across our operating teams, providing financial insight, performance analysis and practical financial support to operational leaders. You'll help improve business performance through timely reporting, financial analysis, commercial insights and strong financial governance.  You’ll build trusted relationships, bring clarity to complex financial information and help identify opportunities that support sustainable growth and continuous improvement.

This is a highly visible role where your ability to collaborate, influence and connect financial insights to business outcomes will make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with operational and commercial leaders to understand business performance, provide financial insights and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support month-end activities, balance sheet reconciliation, financial controls and management reporting activities.
• Assist with preparation of financial analysis, business cases and supporting schedules for management review.
• Provide financial modelling and analysis to support operational improvement initiatives, business cases and key projects.
• Analyse revenue, costs, profitability, margins, volumes and operational performance to identify risks and opportunities.
• Provide insightful financial and operational analysis, including trend, variance, rate and volume analysis, to support informed decision-making.
• Build trusted relationships across the business, supporting and educating stakeholders and contributing to strategies that improve financial and operational performance.

About You

• CA or CPA qualified, with strong commercial finance experience in a complex, multi-site organisation.
• 5+ years' experience in management accounting, financial accounting, finance business partnering roles.
• A collaborative and relationship-focused professional who enjoys working with and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Confident communicating financial information in a clear, engaging and easy-to-understand way, including with non-financial audiences.
• Naturally curious and analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and financial judgement, and the confidence to ask questions and offer a different perspective.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems capability, with experience in JDE E1,or similar ERP/accounting systems highly regarded.
• Exposure to transport, logistics, waste, manufacturing or industrial services businesses will be advantageous.
