The Opportunity
In this key role, you will be managing and optimizing the largest organics processing facility in the southern hemisphere. With a team of four direct and seventy indirect staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective receival and processing of organic materials while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations and Cleanaway safety standards. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of professionals and contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable waste management practices.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, productivity, and safety.
- Manage facility budgets, expenses, and resource allocation to achieve cost-effective operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operational activities and achieve company objectives.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee operations staff to maintain high-performance standards and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
About You
- Prior experience in manufacturing or operations management role within an industrial environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of HSE and environmental legislation and comprehensive safety management systems.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and develop teams to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
