The Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and management of landfill gas and leachate systems at our facilities. Your work will ensure that we meet environmental compliance standards and maintain efficient operations. This role is a 12-month Fixed Term contract with a possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Regularly monitor landfill gas collection systems, including gas extraction wells, and gas utilization equipment.
• Conduct leachate level measurements and sampling for analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on landfill gas and leachate systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate records of gas and leachate data, prepare reports, and assist with regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with contractors and other operations teams to implement improvements and upgrades to systems.
• Ensure all operations comply with environmental regulations and Cleanaway’s safety standards.

About You

• Hands-on experience in landfill gas operations, gas management, leachate systems, or piping systems is highly desirable.
• Strong technical skills, particularly in operating and maintaining piping and gas collection and destruction systems such as flares.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to landfill operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
