The Opportunity

As a Senior Project Engineer at Cleanaway, you will play a key role in driving improvements and innovations in the design of solid waste projects nationally. You will partner with internal customers and stakeholders, to optimise engineering design, support safe and sound project delivery, and shape sustainable solutions. This is a role where your leadership, influence, and collaborative skills will shine – and where your input makes a meaningful difference.  

 

Your key contributions will include:

  • Supporting the design and development of engineering solutions for waste processing systems, and facility layouts
  • Collaborating on initiatives that improve site layouts and processes
  • Helping business partners shape practical and innovative proposals
  • Leading the safe, efficient and effective delivery of projects – while working internal teams, customers, and contractors
  • Translating project briefs into engineering scopes plus detailed CAD and other plans – in partnership with stakeholders and consultants

 

About You

Working within a small, supportive and nationally dispersed team, the ideal candidate is an inspired, self-motivated and experienced professional with a willingness to develop expertise within the waste industry.

 

Ideally, you bring:

  • A degree in Engineering – we welcome diverse disciplines
  • 10 plus years’ local experience within Project Engineering or Project Management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidentially across all levels
  • A team oriented, customer-centric mindset, with a passion for achieving shared outcomes
  • Flexibility and curiosity to learn about the waste industry – even if you are new to it
