The Opportunity
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of all fleet/equipment maintenance generally, but specifically responsible for the daily supervision of the vehicles and employees involved in the workshop. This role is based at our Northgate Depot. The position will achieve agreed objectives concerning operating efficiencies, productivity, equipment acquisition and maintenance as well as ensuring that costs are controlled within the set budget levels.
- Lead the workshop and equipment functions through both internal resources and outsourced subcontractors to ensure appropriate systems and resources are in place to deliver reliable cost-effective services
- Implement systems that ensure all Company property, equipment and machinery is kept up to the standard needed for safe and efficient operation, and that only qualified and authorised persons are carrying out installation, repairs, maintenance, servicing or modifications
- Provide administrative control by overseeing the JDE purchasing function for workshop activities
- Monitor and contribute to fleet and equipment compliance with Cleanaway standards
About You
We're looking for a trade-qualified Workshop Supervisor with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
If you have at least 2 years of experience in a related frontline leadership role, we’d love to hear from you. In addition, our ideal candidate has:
- Experience in leading and supervising fleet or equipment workshops
- Strong track record in safety leadership and performance
- Experience within the waste management or transport industry, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work within budgetary guidelines
- Background in heavy vehicle maintenance
- HR or HC licence essential, forklift ticket also desirable
- Frontline Leadership qualification, desirable
