The Opportunity:

Working in Cleanaway's Oils and Technical Services business, the accountant role works in and supports the finance reporting team.  The main purpose of the role is to support financial reporting, assist with month-end delivery, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting, budgets, fixed assets and support the finance team with day-to-day ad hoc duties.  Additionally, you will be responsible for.

• Perform month end close duties including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports to the management and operations team.
• Engage effectively with stakeholders and working with finance manager to understand drivers behind results while providing exceptional support and service as required.
• Ensure the integrity of information entered into the general ledger in accordance with finance policies and procedures.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the business reporting model and associated accounting system and support other departments on financial aspects of queries.
• Supports the business with capital expenditure applications and the asset capitalisation process.
• Supports the finance manager and commercial business partners with budget preparation.
• Ad hoc work as required by Finance Manager and commercial business partners.

About You:

Results-focused, you understand the importance of accurate and timely financial information.  You are detail-oriented and relish working in a collaborative team who are passionate about continuous improvement.  To be successful in this role, you will possess.  

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or Accounting.
• CA or CPA qualification or studying towards is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of core accounting principles and accounting practices.
• Adept in the use of spreadsheets, which improve processes and provide insightful data.
• High level of computer literacy and intermediate/advanced Excel skills, including computerised accounting packages, (JDE/TM1 desirable but not compulsory).
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
