The Opportunity
Operations Supervisor – Supporting the Containers for Change scheme
Location: Ballarat VIC
We’re seeking an energetic and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our Ballarat VIC team, supporting the container deposit scheme. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our logistics and processing operations run safely, efficiently, and smoothly.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are alike – you’ll be planning, coordinating, supporting your team, and solving challenges to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient service.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Oversee daily collections operations, including rostering, route planning, and monitoring driver performance.
- Supervise, support, and motivate a team of drivers and collections staff, fostering a positive and safety-focused work environment.
- Conduct daily pre-starts, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to keep the team informed and focused on safety and compliance.
- Perform fatigue, mass and speed audit checks and provide driver coaching and training as required.
- Address operational issues promptly as needed to meet customer demands.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records and reports.
About You
- Compressed work week (one rostered weekend day)
- Proven experience in an operations or supervisory role, ideally within a logistics, or waste management environment is desirable but not essential
- Proficient computer skills essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving operational challenges.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members and handle customer inquiries professionally.
