Hazardous Waste Manager

The Opportunity

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead two critical operational sites based in Kwinana and Henderson with autonomy and passion.  Join a business committed to safety, innovation and sustainability. 

Your expertise in leading high-performance teams, along with commercial acumen, hazardous waste and water treatment experience, transport operations, logistics, and fleet management, will form the foundation of your success. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of compliance and safety through initiatives and programs
  • Ensure that appropriate performance reviews, talent management and succession plans are in place to maximise engagement and retention of employees, utilising HR support, as required.
  • Partner with Commercial Finance teams to drive data integrity and process improvements for market growth.
  • Oversee operational and financial performance of both sites, including profit and loss reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Monitor and manage costs, implementing reduction programs to maximise profitability and operational efficiency while ensuring a safe working environment

 

About You

You are an inspired, self-motivated, and experienced leader with a proven track record in operational management within hazardous liquids, logistics, or a similar industrial environment. You excel at balancing day-to-day management with continuous improvement initiatives, all while ensuring team engagement and customer satisfaction.

Here’s a closer look at the key attributes we’re seeking:

  • A chemistry or chemical engineering qualification or equivalent experience within a chemical/industrial environment
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams in fast-paced settings
  • Strong operational management experience in hazardous and liquid waste collection and processing
  • Solid understanding of financial management in branch operations, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to ensure profitability
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a track record of implementing effective solutions
