The ROLE

As the Injury Management Administrator at David Jones, you will ensure the effective and compliant management and sustainable return to work of our injured team members who have sustained a work related and non-work related injury across AU/NZ.

Reporting to the Leader - Workers Compensation, you will be working closely with Safety and Wellbeing, People and Culture, Employees Relations, and external stakeholders and help achieve safe, timely, and supported return to work for all injured team members.

 

What YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE

In this role, you will notify insurers of new injuries, assist in the management of workers compensation claims from start to finish, return to work plans, calculation of workers compensation entitlements, assist in incident investigations and ensuring all confidential records are accurate and up to date. You will work closely with injured team members, store and distribution management teams, and key stakeholders to coordinate safe and timely return to work arrangements.

Your day will involve regular communication with the Leader - Workers Compensation, health practitioners, insurers, rehabilitation consultants, internal teams to provide guidance and support throughout the injury management process and achieve positive rehabilitation outcomes in line with legislation and David Jones requirements.

You will:

  • Provide support to continued business operations across various sites (retail and supply chain) across all trading days in the event of a business disruption.
  • Ensuring notification of all new injuries to insurers in-line with regulatory timeframes
  • Encourage prompt reporting of incidents, hazards and risks
  • Encourage safe work practices
  • Respond promptly and provide advice to internal stakeholders relating to return to work for work related and non-work related injuries
  • Support the creation and implementation of Return to Work (RTW) plans in line with business needs.
  • Establish and maintain regular contact with injured team members to encourage active participation in their recovery.
  • Consult with injured team members, treating health practitioners, managers, and other relevant parties to develop and document return to work plans.
  • Identify suitable and meaningful duties for injured team members and monitor their progress.
  • Provide input into workers compensation system reviews and contribute to the improvement of related Return to Work and Injury Management policies, procedures, systems and processes
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders where required.
  • Support the creation and implementation of Return to Work (RTW) plans in line with business needs.
  • Lodge claims with insurers through insurer reporting platforms and updating our Claims Management System, ensuring notifications meet reporting timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case notes in line with laws and guidelines.
  • Seek expert advice to progress claims not meeting expected recovery timeframes.
  • Assist in selecting and monitoring occupational rehabilitation providers.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in claims reviews with insurers
  • Identify early if a team member cannot return to their pre-injury role and work with stakeholders on alternative employment options.
  • Assist in payroll with fortnightly and monthly workers compensation wages
  • Submit Wage Reimbursements Schedules to insurers monthly
  • Assist in annual premium renewal preparation
  • Participate in Crisis Management Team (CMT) scenario engagements as required

 

What YOU’LL NEED TO THRIVE

  • Demonstrated experience in Workers Compensation claims
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to apply legislation and practices in support of injury and claims management, rehabilitation and return to work
  • Be safety focus and promote safe work practices
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to cope with diverse and multiple stakeholders
  • Professional, motivated, competent and trustworthy
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills
