The Opportunity

You will be part of the Actuarial – Diversified Business team and provide a wide variety of analysis, reporting and business support in relation to the products, members and financial performance of HCF’s Diversified Business.

The team primarily serves HCF Life and HCF’s International Business (Overseas Visitors Health Cover), while providing support for HCF’s Pet & Travel Insurance where required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Pricing
  • Product Development & Monitoring Activities,
  • Financial Modelling
  • Budgeting
  • Reporting and support for business/strategic initiatives

This role requires building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships with key stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to mentor Actuarial Analysts.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in actuarial roles, preferably in the private health and/or life insurance industry
  • Qualified or progressing towards Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia
  • Strong technical and modelling capability including use of tools such as Excel, SAS/SQL, Python/R
  • Knowledge of the Australian Life/Health Industry and its regulatory framework
  • Demonstrated experience in working with staff at all levels of an organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and interpreting of data/information and providing concise commentary and recommendations
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • You will be flexible and adaptable with ability to collaborate with the wider team
