About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Team Leader Cloud Services, you will lead Seqwater’s DevOps Engineering function, ensuring effective design, implementation, and management of

scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for Seqwater’s cloud services development and deployment processes. You will establish work area outcomes, prepare proposals and budget submissions, develop and implement operational procedures,

and review operations for effectiveness. You will also provide guidance and direction to peers and direct reports and engage and influence stakeholders and customers for successful service delivery.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and leadership in the development and implementation of complex technical solutions, providing briefing material and regular performance reports for key stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the team’s development, implementation, and review of continuous improvement projects for but not limited to Azure and AWS cloud platforms and services using continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation of the software development lifecycle.
  • Administration and coordination of DevOps services and solutions across all Seqwater.
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical issues, providing effective and efficient problem-solving expertise while maintaining formal request management utilising appropriate systems.
  • Establish and implement processes, procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing the performance of cloud platforms and services, managing the security, performance, costs and availability of cloud-based services under agreed SLAs.
  • Apply architectural and DevOps engineering concepts to design a solution that meets operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability.
  • Establish and maintain a mechanism for identifying systems trends from relevant data and systems, providing high level advice and recommendations for improving operations and evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendation for adoption.
  • Manage the establishment, maintenance, and development of effective working relationships between DTI Cloud Services and customer business units to identify agree and meet customer requirements for core services provided.
  • Undertake work outside of core business hours as required to minimise interruption to end users, including involvement in the on call roster.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:  

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Azure or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar.
  • Proven Experience in cloud platform engineering and operations.
  • Experience in a supervisor equivalent role.
  • Experience in resource management for a DevOps engineering team inclusive of handling external contractors.
  • Proven track record of client-centric collaboration and agile solution delivery.
  • Experience in budget preparation and developing proposals.

 

This position has a salary range of $118,579.95 - $129,013.30 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
