About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our General Manager Asset Strategy and Planning, you will use your knowledge and experience in large infrastructure asset management to will lead a specialist team of asset engineers and strategic planners to identify, understand and appropriately respond to the risk profile of the asset and for service delivery. You will be accountable for developing business cases which will deliver fit for purpose asset solutions and plan and progress initiatives (projects) and integrated asset investment programs. You will work to address the identified risks, ensuring that the asset is fit for purpose and meets Seqwater's current and future strategic needs and obligations.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of strategic asset management plans that optimise asset value and performance, ensuring reliability, optimisation and futureproofing of the asset.
- Through asset lifecycle planning, identify, understand and respond to the risk profile of the asset class in a manner which is consistent with the overall asset management strategy, ensuring an integrated and prioritised approach for lifecycle management based on risk reduction and/ or benefits derived. Oversee and contribute to the development of work programs and initiatives to manage the asset life cycle including by developing strategic and preliminary business cases.
- Develop deep understanding of the asset risk profile to act as the sponsor for project and programs of work to address risk for the asset class as per the Seqwater Project, Program, Portfolio methodology.
- Lead the collaboration with internal and external key stakeholders, including government agencies, to gather input and build consensus on asset initiatives to then drive business case development and project scoping.
- Lead and mentor a team of source asset planning specialists/ engineers, driving a high-performance culture which fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, identifying opportunities for optimisation and refinement of processes.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- Current active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position
- Significant experience in the lifecycle management of network assets such as pipelines, reservoirs and pump stations.
- Significant knowledge of Asset Management as applied for significant water infrastructure which prioritises capital investment for risk reduction and performance optimisation.
- Experience in business case development to scope and prioritise asset investments and programs, including development of long-term investment profiles.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills of a mid-size specialist team with success in mentoring, work allocation and development of a high performance culture.

Desirables
- Post grad studies in asset management or a qualification in finance or economics
- Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills in the establishment of an asset risk profile and consequential business case development.
- Applied knowledge of relevant compliance and governance with industry standards and legislation as applied to water infrastructure.
- Unrestricted "Class C" Driver's License.
This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary.
