About Your Opportunity

Join our dynamic Strategic Planning team at Seqwater and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of water infrastructure in South East Queensland! As a key contributor, you'll help deliver strategic planning outcomes for our diverse water assets, ensuring the long-term growth and development of the bulk water grid. You'll be instrumental in planning the region's water supply system, identifying transformative initiatives, and investment opportunities. Your efforts will ensure our network remains fit for purpose, aligns with our strategic objectives, and continues to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply to our communities for generations to come.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Under direction, undertake investigations and technical analysis to determine future service needs of the Seqwater water supply system in terms of community safety, water quality, water security, peaking requirements, and continuity of supply.
  • Engage with representatives from the Water Service Providers in the joint development of Local Area Plans that address joint servicing needs, service risks and opportunities.
  • Analyse the existing system performance and identify service delivery risks and future capability deficits. Coordinate inputs from various subject matter experts including hydraulic and system modellers.
  • Identify and develop strategic options and assessments that address risks and projected capability deficiencies. Characterise options in terms of the option benefits, costs, implementation risks and delivery timeframes.
  • Contribute to the development of options assessment frameworks to select strategic options. This may include technical metrics, cost metrics, economic metrics and other relevant metrics

 

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a related Engineering discipline.
  • Current active RPEQ registration, or progressing towards registration, in a discipline

relevant to the position.

  • Demonstrated experience in planning for water supply networks or similar infrastructure.
  • Proficiency and experience in integrated strategic planning for large and complex

systems.

  • Knowledge of water system hydraulic and water balance modelling

 

This position has a salary range of $132,746 - $145,422 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
