About Your Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and experienced natural resource management professional to join our Source Protection team at this important juncture where we are looking to grow our team and program to the next level.

Our delivery model is through engagement and support of catchment management organisations to deliver large and complex natural resource management programs, on third party land, which are targeted at reducing water source risk and protecting the integrity of the natural systems (catchment areas, rivers and creeks) that contribute to the quality of source waters for the supply of potable water to over 3.5m people in South East Queensland.

Key responsibilities:

  • The provision of expertise in business case development, assessment and refinement of source protection projects, as well as the management of relevant projects;
  • The on-ground inspection of catchment areas across the South East Queensland region. Including assessment of project feasibility and subsequently review of project delivery outcomes. Your experience and natural resource management skillset will be critical in this aspect of the role;
  • The role will also include responsibilities to assist in improving the program’s communications and rollout of our practice change program (Rivercare);
  • Support of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting function of the team will also be a key responsibility of this role.
  • Other actions, as specified by the lead- Source Protection

This position has a varied and broad remit to keep things interesting and this is the ideal time to join the team as we look to grow our program across the region.

This position is ideal for someone living close to our Creek Street (Brisbane CBD) or Hinze Dam work sites, however you will be required to work in various locations across south east Queensland.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant science discipline
  • Significant demonstrated experience in Project Management
  • Significant demonstrated experience (5-10 years) within catchment management, agricultural or natural resource management sectors.
  • Drivers licence
  • Physical health for undertaking field visits in natural areas 
  • Experience working with Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting frameworks, with experience using GIS highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications relevant to this field of work and an ability to tailor communications to varied audiences.

This position has a salary range of $132,746.14 – 145,422.62 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
