About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Senior Project Manager, Capital Delivery, as Design Manager for the Lowood Water Supply Scheme Upgrade project, this role will have a particular focus on optimising process engineering performance and reliability across the water treatment and network systems, ensuring seamless integration between treatment plants, pipelines, and downstream infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, manage expert consultants, and drive continuous improvement in systems and processes. With a focus on excellence and innovation, you’ll shape the future of Seqwater’s network and treatment assets while championing its values every step of the way.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Provide engineering leadership and design advice across planning, construction, maintenance, and operations of Seqwater’s large pipeline and water treatment plant upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develop technical documentation for the procurement of design consultants and supporting technical services, ensuring alignment with Seqwater’s procurement policies and project governance requirements.
• Day-to-day management of design consultants, including monitoring performance, resolving technical issues, and ensuring delivery against scope, timeframes, and budget.
• Support the Senior Project Manager by supervising design management activities, including design reviews, coordination meetings, and the resolution of interdisciplinary design issues.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Process/Chemical engineering, with a minimum of 10 years’ professional engineering experience. RPEQ Qualified 
• Direct experience in design and delivery of construction contracts exceeding CAPEX $200M.
• In-depth understanding of hydraulic modelling, water quality management, and regulatory compliance related to water treatment and distribution networks
• Proven ability to assess and improve existing process designs to enhance treatment efficiency, reduce operational risk, and ensure sustainability.

This position will be offered as an individual TFR contract with an attractive salary, and is a 2-year fixed term contract
