About Your Opportunity
As an Environmental Officer, you will deliver environmental advice and support within an asset intensive industry. In collaboration with the Environmental Advisor and Senior Environmental Advisor you will partner with your key internal stakeholders to improve Seqwater’s environmental management capabilities. With general knowledge of environmental legislation and approvals frameworks you will interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure Seqwater’s interests and environmental management outcomes are achieved.
Key responsibilities:
- Support regional environmental compliance and monitoring to meet legislative and policy requirements.
- Provide technical advice and problem-solving for project planning, delivery, and operations.
- Assist with investigations and audits related to environmental incidents and risks, including coordination with external parties and regulators.
- Contribute to environmental reporting and incident management, ensuring alignment with Seqwater’s compliance obligations.
- Build stakeholder relationships and support procurement coordination for environmental consultancy services.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Understanding of environmental legislation and licensing, with practical application to operational and project activities.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data and reports and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across internal and external groups.
This position is a 3‑month secondment opportunity commencing 30 March 2026, with a salary starting at $90,491.17/annum plus 12.75% superannuation.
The role will be initially based in our Northern region for approximately five weeks, followed by one month of floating responsibilities across our regions, and then one month covering the Central region.
