Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Recruits students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the University, its programs, and scholarship opportunities. Coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters. Identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students. Plans student receptions and counselor briefings. Analyzes data on current and future territories and markets.


Additional Department Summary: Recruit students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the university, its programs, and scholarship opportunities at the numerous recruitment receptions and counselor briefings across the U.S. This includes traveling to receptions around the country, setting up for the receptions including trouble shooting audio-video equipment for the program, making arrangements for key note speakers and other University personnel travelling for the receptions.

The Regional UA Admissions Rep. when not traveling to work a reception, will support the receptions through planning future receptions, organizing and training Keynote and student speakers, and identifying faculty and staff on campus who can serve as facilitators for the receptions. Other duties assisting the Director of Orientation with University Days and other recruiting events.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and some recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Some evening and weekend work is required. This position requires the incumbent to have personal transportation and to travel alone. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. The capability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials.


Skills and Knowledge: An interest in working with prospective college students and their families; the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Poise


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling is preferred.
