Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm


Job Summary: The Social Media Specialist I coordinates and maintains university presence on social media on a daily basis, including developing content to creatively communicate UA's messages on all digital platforms under immediate supervision. Responds to questions/comments on social platforms after conferring with supervisor. Tracks metrics and compiles monthly report. Monitors social media accounts and elevates concerns to supervisor. May be required to cover live events during and after work hours as needed, as well as providing backup to co-workers in social media.


Additional Department Summary: Serves the College of Communication and Information Sciences (CCIS) by developing a strategic approach and content for the CCIS social media channels. Works alongside colleagues in communication and advancement to propel the college’s brand and tell stories to a variety of audiences. Contributes to the success of the College of Communication and Information Sciences through innovative storytelling and audience engagement.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and some social media, digital marketing, public relations, advertising, and/or communications experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Analytical mindset with a focus on performance metrics. Creativity in developing engaging content and campaigns.
