Normal Work Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; Tuesday, Thursday 10:00am to 7:00pm; Will include some evening and weekend recovery programming.


Job Summary: The Collegiate Recovery Community Coordinator builds and maintains effective relationships and serve as liaison with campus academic advisers for shared courses with Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) students. Plans, implements, oversees, and evaluates CRC student engagement activities that promote citizenship, healthy relationships, and socialization for sober living. Responds to student inquiries about university and programmatic issues. Monitors student compliance with all policies and procedures related to the University and the Collegiate Recovery Community for those in the program. Supervises student workers and volunteers that support the program.


Additional Department Summary: Supports students with their recovery, education, and life issues while working under the leadership of the Assistant Director of Collegiate Recovery Programs to assure the anonymity of all students in research/evaluation activities. Responds to email, phone, and related correspondence with interested students, parents of students in recovery, and other campus, local, state, or national community members. Works with Student Life Communications to develop materials for campus programs and events to include recruitment materials and promotion of on-campus programs. Updates website and social media content. Implements a UA/CRC Alumni network and maintains regular correspondence with alumni, which includes tracking recovery progress after graduation for future research. Keeps all alumni records and personal information updated. Leads workshops on study skills, time management, and other related topics to students in recovery during weekly seminar meetings. Maintains direct contact with students on a daily basis, and frequent contact with relevant professional staff, advisers, directors across campus to meet the needs of collaborative experiences for students and the promotion of academic success for the students involved.

Completes required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace; and safer work environment. Holds staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. If in recovery, must have at least three (3) years sobriety.


Skills and Knowledge: Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of addiction, recovery and 12-step programs. Ability to relate effectively to graduate and undergraduate students, campus partners, and community agencies. Ability to engage collegiate recovery community members in ongoing recovery while maintaining professional boundaries. Ability to work effectively with and understand the interest of students, faculty and staff.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology or closely related field with an emphasis or coursework in addiction studies. Experience in a collegiate recovery community setting as staff, intern, or member. Participation in sobriety-based, abstinence-based recovery. Experience in substance abuse treatment (28 day, IOP, 3/4 or 1/2 way house setting).
