Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; extensive evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Summary: The Alumni Student Recruitment Program Coordinator coordinates the development, planning, outreach, scheduling, implementation, execution, follow-up, and budget of the National Alumni Association’s Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program. Advises upcoming freshman students on admission applications, registration, scholarship information, enrollment, housing, and financial aid. Serves as liaison between the National Alumni Association, campus partners, external constituent groups, and alumni chapters.


Additional Department Summary: Responsible for the development, planning, outreach, scheduling, implementation, execution, follow-up, and budgeting of the National Alumni Association’s Discovering Bama and Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program (A$AP). Responsible for identifying, recruiting and assisting the enrollment of qualified undergraduate students, both in-state and out-of-state, at The University of Alabama. May also include supervision of student(s), evaluation of programs, and reporting.

Presents programs in coordination with campus partners, alumni chapters, and referral sources. Meets with prospective students, parents, and high school counselors to provide guidance and information on the University, its opportunities, campus life, student involvement, and more. Ensures presentations meet NAA standards of excellence. Uses discretion and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks and responsibilities, and in making sure each is conducted accurately, expediently and with integrity.

Advises entering freshman students with admission application, registration, and scholarship information. Also provides enrollment, housing, and financial aid information as requested to assist students with the details of attending UA.

Assists and represents the National Alumni Association at Undergraduate Admissions’ regional receptions and specialized recruitment events.

Participates in various programs and activities for high school and undergraduate students to increase awareness of the NAA and its opportunities.

Serves as a liaison between the NAA, departments, numerous campus partners, off-site constituent groups, NAA Chapters across the country, and external sources.

Assists in creating, promoting, and updating communications and content for websites and social media platforms hosted by the National Alumni Association as appropriate for this position.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and one (1) year of experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work some evening and weekends. Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of National Alumni Association and UA scholarships. Understanding of the mission of The University of Alabama and the National Alumni Association. Strong organizational skills. Ability to lead and manage groups through planning, development, and implementation of the program. General supervisory skills demonstrated through experience. Strong computer skills and knowledge, including basic desktop computing skills (Windows, Excel, etc.) and general knowledge of Banner, ARGOs and ASAS (Alabama Scholarship Awarding System). General financial accounting skills. Ability to review and analyze basic financial reports along with institutional services (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of institutional and departmental policies and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, education, marketing, business, or related and two (2) years of experience in a comparable position.
