Job Summary: The Marketing Coordinator III oversees marketing, promotion, and publicity functions for a college, division, or the University under minimal supervision. Creates and implements marketing strategies using advertising, media, direct mail, etc. Coordinates production of materials specified in marketing plans and calendars. Consults with product and/or program development.
Additional Department Summary: Utilizes current and emerging digital tools to strengthen the initiatives of Strategic Communications as the division advances the mission of The University of Alabama. Prioritizes recruitment and communications efforts for graduate degree programs by leveraging the University CRM tools, email marketing, digital platforms, and project management software. Utilizes strategic communication campaigns to increase yield of domestic and international recruitment efforts from a body of highly qualified enrolled students with various backgrounds and experiences and supports their ongoing success.
May be required to monitor and report on ongoing campaigns during night, weekend or holiday hours.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Experience creating and executing email marketing, digital advertising campaigns and campaign reporting.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to generate and analyze complex reports. Ability to utilize results to adjust and optimize marketing tactics. Working knowledge of landing page construction, data management, and inbound marketing practices. Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management tools, web-based content management systems, and digital analytics. Ability to learn emerging platforms. Copywriting and editing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Marketing research, project management, and proofreading skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Slate CRM. Google Analytics certified. Experience providing art direction to designers and photographers. Experience executing digital marketing and email campaigns. Experience buying and placing advertising. Experience writing for marketing campaigns. Experience creating reports with MS Excel. Experience creating reports with data visualization tools.
