Job Summary: The Title IV E Simulation Lab Standardized Participant provides social work students with Standardized Participant (SPs) simulations.


Additional Department Summary: Memorizes case scripts and performs acting roles to portray the roles of social work clients, family members, or others in simulations for students. Assesses student behaviors using standardized measurement tools and provides feedback. Utilizes trained individuals to portray the roles of social work clients, family members, or others to allow students to practice intake, communication skills, and a variety of social work skills.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to memorize case scripts for presentation during simulated learning situations. Ability to present case information in a standardized manner. Ability to remain in specific standardized participant character as trained for simulation experiences. Ability to remember interactions with students for the purpose of evaluation. Ability and willingness to be recorded (video) for educational purposes. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to memorize and be improvisational. Ability to be flexible with time-based on simulation schedule. Basic Computer Skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or experience in acting, social work, or teaching.
