Normal Work Schedule: Varies; Sunday - Saturday 7:00am to 3:00pm, 3:00pm to 11:00pm, 11:00pm to 7:00am.


Job Summary: The LPN facilitates quality patient care within the scope of licensure.


Additional Department Summary: Provides direct nursing care to residents. Assists in the training and maintenance of residents ability to recognize and identify their medications as their own. Delegates and supervises the care provided by resident aides. Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, obtains specimens as needed, and completes documentation as required.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Alabama in good standing.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or the equivalent. Two years of experience working as a licensed practical nurse including experience and awareness of the needs of Geriatric Residents. Must be licensed as a LPN in the State of Alabama in good standing.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Must successfully complete health screening once post-offer of employment is made.


Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the Alabama Department of Public Health Rules & Regulations for Assisted Living and Specialty Care Assisted Living. Knowledge of DETA Care and Dementia in the elderly. Knowledge of The DETA Brain Series, The Pharmacological Management of Dementia, and The Dementia Assessment Series provided by the Dementia Education and Training Act Program, or an equivalent training approved by the State health Officer.
