Normal Work Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm; some evenings & weekends
Job Summary: The Driver operates automobiles, vans, or other vehicles. Loads and unloads materials, goods, equipment, and passengers between various destinations as assigned. May be responsible for vehicle maintenance and presentation.
Additional Department Summary: Transports residents to scheduled appointments and other activities. Assists residents on and off transportation vehicles, including helping with residents' assistive devices. Assists residents when away from Capstone Village. Covers transportation needs for any unexpected trips or events with limited notice.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports, and a variety of instructions in written, verbal, diagram, and/or schedule form. Experience transporting residents in a safe, responsible manner to scheduled appointments and other activities.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to lift and stow wheelchairs and walkers. Team player. Show respect for others. Ability to discuss garage repairs/vehicle issues and be able to follow through on the garage repairs/vehicle issues. Ability to use computers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
