Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; some nights and weekends.

Job Summary: The Electrician III acts as a lead worker to perform highly skilled work in the electrical trade Installs, repairs, and performs maintenance of a wide variety of electrical equipment to include high voltage switching equipment, transformers, appliances, circuitry, and lighting systems in athletic fields (indoors and outdoors), streets, labs, classrooms and buildings. Trains and supervises other Electricians. Provides work leadership to other trades personnel. Drives drive from site to site. May work with high voltage systems (480 to 12470 VAC) and at levels of thirty to one-hundred and twenty feet above ground.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of electrical work experience to include some supervisory or work lead experience; OR journeyman card in electrical work. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to lift, handle, operate, and maneuver the tools, materials, and supplies of the job. Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans and do material takeoffs. Good people skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
