Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some nights & weekends required.


Job Summary: The Web Strategist II uses specialized technical and web-centered digital marketing knowledge to manage or support college-level websites. Works under moderate supervision.


Additional Department Summary: Working closely with the Director of College Communications and other key stakeholders, the position oversees strategic content planning, production, and deployment in support of the Culverhouse College of Business’s digital communications enterprise.

Also serves as digital marketing manager focused on paid campaigns supporting College priorities, which includes student enrollment, event promotion, audience engagement, and general awareness.

This work, which will be performed according to the College’s overall communications and marketing strategy, will be primarily achieved via the College’s website, social media platforms, and digital marketing platforms.

Key aspects include:
Leading digital marketing and communications efforts to engage audiences in coordination with College and UA affiliates and partners. Researching current business education market trends, along with the admission marketing campaigns and materials of competing programs, using this information to keep marketing approaches relevant, competitive, and leading edge. Ensuring that all content is compliant with UA and Culverhouse brand standards and expectations. Engaging and overseeing student and volunteer efforts in support of these priorities.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of web content management experience; OR master's degree and some web content management experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Excellent organization and project management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced office environment. Strong communication skills, particularly in presentation development, copy, and advertising writing. Ability to develop and enforce branding, identity, and style guidelines. Well-versed in AP style. Demonstrated experience with executing multi-channel marketing strategies, including strong digital marketing strategies including SEO, paid social media, and campaign budgeting. Ability to work effectively on a high-performing team and contribute to a collaborative, strategic working relationship with partners across different units, departments, and colleges. Proficiency in Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and CMS platforms. Excellent organization and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field and four (4) years of experience in digital marketing, social media content strategy, or communications. Experience in higher education or education-related industry. Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce). Certifications in Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or similar native advertising platforms. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and design practices. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Skilled at photography and basic video production.
