Job Summary: The Crime and Intelligence Analyst I uses the advanced technology capabilities of the REACT Lab to gather critical intelligence data from open-source resources, physical devices, and human intelligence sources. Reports evidentiary and critical data to UAPD and other UA departments. Works with supervisor to maintain the viability and efficiency of the Lab’s daily activities.
Additional Department Summary: Processes and analyzes computer hardware, electronically stored data, and other computer-related evidentiary materials relevant to law enforcement investigations. Prepares written reports on the analysis completed and communicates significant findings.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Must be able to work extended hours and overtime to include evening, nights, weekends and holiday hours as needed.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Good analytical skills. Good attention to detail and documentation skills. Must be able to switch from task-to-task effectively. Good organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs). Experience with and/or ability to learn job specific hardware, software and operating systems and programs. Incumbents to this position may spend extended amounts of time investigating graphic and shocking images and video representations of crimes against public morality. Successful candidates should possess the ability to maintain their mental and emotional state while performing the duties of this position.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree and/or certification(s) in Computer Forensics, Intelligence Analysis, or other industry accepted degrees and certification(s) related to digital forensics/intelligence analysis. One (1) year of intelligence analysis experience.
