Job Summary: The Research Project Coordinator supports the overall development of research project(s). Assists with project design, management, and implementation. Promotes the project and serves as liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. May supervise students, provide general office assistance, create promotional materials, and assist in the development of other potential projects.
Additional Department Summary: Dr. Bradley A. White, Director of the Cognition, Emotion, and Self-Regulation Lab in the University of Alabama Center for Youth Development and Intervention is actively seeking a Research Project Coordinator specializing in data management and quality control to contribute to our funded NIMH R61/R33 clinical trial. This study tests a computerized Facial Affect Sensitivity Training Intervention that focuses on improving affect sensitivity in children ages 6-11 with callous-unemotional traits. This is a full-time, salaried position with regular university employee benefits, funded through completion of the clinical trial (currently July 31, 2026, with possibility of extension).
The Research Project Coordinator will work closely with Dr. White and the project team with primary focus on REDCap database management, data quality control, and statistical support. This role will overlap with and support our clinical coordinators in data systems and technical analysis. The Research Project Coordinator will contribute to all aspects of the research workflow as needed, with primary responsibilities including: Data Management & Quality Control; Data Analysis & Statistical Support; Regulatory Compliance; and Coordination Support.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience coordinating projects.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Psychology, or related quantitative field with experience in data management and statistical analysis. Proficiency with REDCap and statistical software (R, SPSS, SAS, or similar). Strong attention to detail, commitment to data integrity, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
