Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; occasional overtime as needed
Job Summary: The Assistant Manager of Elevator Maintenance assists in the managing, planning, scheduling, and overseeing of all activities associated with the daily activities of the Elevator Maintenance department. Schedules and delivers training. Provides technical expertise to employees within the department.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of elevator work experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of elevator work experience; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of elevator work experience. Must have National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Certified Elevator Technician (CET) certification. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver the tools, materials, and supplies of the job. Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans. Ability to do material takeoffs. Good people skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Good written and verbal communications skills. Proficient computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Elevator Technician-Supervisor (CET-S) certification recognized by the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC). Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification recognized by the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC).
