Job Summary: The Academic Advisor II PT provides guidance to University students on academic progress, courses, University resources, etc. on a part-time basis. Identifies courses to be completed in upcoming semesters. Explains University and College policies. Provides guidance and trains entry-level advisors. May teach compass course as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of academic advising experience; OR master's degree and some academic advising experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work with various groups of people, including the student population and external constituents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Public speaking skills. Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management. Good planning, coordinating, and organizing skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of and experience working with advising in HES.
