The Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management, a growing Department with a thriving faculty, seeks to fill a full-time instructor position in Hospitality Management beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. Due to continued program growth, the department will split, resulting in the formation of the Department of Hospitality and Sport Management starting Fall 2027. The current Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management is one of five academic units within the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama.

Responsibilities: Teaching and service to articulate the mission of The University including:
• Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels as appropriate. Examples of courses that the candidate may teach include, but are not limited to, the following: Lodging Operations & Management, Issues in Hotel/Lodging Management, Hotel Sales and Event Services, and Internship in Hospitality Management.
• Recruit and mentor students.
• Coordinate Internships.
• Academic advising for undergraduate and graduate students as appropriate.
• Serve on Departmental, College, and University committees.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications: Applicants should have a strong background, training, and expertise in hospitality management.
• Master’s or terminal degree in Hospitality Management or related field is required.
• Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant hospitality industry experience is preferred, and hotel experience is strongly preferred.
