Assistant/Associate Professor
Position Summary
We are excited to announce multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates with a special interest in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cardiovascular or metabolic health, infectious disease prevention and management, or executive leadership are encouraged to apply. Those with other interest areas will be considered.
Detailed Position Information
• Conduct and sustain a program of externally funded research.
• Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Contribute to the advancement of the college through service and leadership.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote innovation in nursing science.
Minimum Qualifications
• Earned doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in nursing or a related field.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement and research productivity.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and service.
• Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Alabama is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• History of federal funding is strongly preferred.

About the Division/College/School
Research Infrastructure and Future Growth
Our institution is committed to supporting cutting-edge research. We are about to embark on building expansion that will include a fully functional biobehavioral research laboratory. It is scheduled for completion in Fall 2028, which will provide advanced resources for innovative nursing science research.
The new building will also feature an innovation lab dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) and other creative and entrepreneurial activities, offering unique opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and technological innovation.
