Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Recruits students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the University, its programs, and scholarship opportunities. Coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters. Identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students. Plans student receptions and counselor briefings. Analyzes data on current and future territories and markets.
Additional Department Summary: Travels to receptions around the country. Sets up for the receptions including trouble shooting audio-video equipment for the program. Makes arrangements for key note speakers and other University personnel travelling for the receptions. Supports recruitment receptions through planning future receptions, organizing and training Keynote and student speakers, and identifying faculty and staff on campus who can serve as facilitators for the receptions.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and some recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Interest in working with prospective college students and their families. Ability to work with various groups of people. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
