Job Summary: The Concierge greets and directs guests. Provides administrative support. Serves as initial point of contact for guests entering facilities.
Additional Department Summary: Due to the Institute’s colocation with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) West Region Office, there is a consistent volume of foot traffic, deliveries, and general inquiries that necessitate reliable front‑desk coverage. This position performs a variety of functions, with an emphasis on creating a welcoming and well-organized front‑office support to maintain efficient daily operations and ensure a professional, welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and partners.
Provides consistent front‑desk support, including greeting and directing visitors, answering general inquiries, and maintaining a professional office presence. Ensures the timely receipt, logging, and proper routing of packages and deliveries, as well as coordinating with ALDOT staff when necessary to ensure smooth shared‑space operations. Supports staff with general administrative tasks. Provides meeting support through preparation, setup, and day‑of logistics. Assists with special projects as assigned. Performs light clerical duties such as data entry, document formatting, and email correspondence.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Working knowledge of standard office software applications, including Microsoft Office and basic data platforms.
