Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm


Job Summary: The Graduate School Assistant Registrar performs and assists with functions related to degree auditing, student record oversight, registration assistance, and catalog preparation for the Graduate School under moderate supervision.


Additional Department Summary: The Graduate School Assistant Registrar maintains and manages graduate student records, working with current students, faculty, and staff with regard to all aspects of matriculation and enrollment, and for overseeing the Graduate Catalog. Acts as administrator and point of contact for Proquest thesis and dissertation submissions and reviews. Oversees the final review of submissions, acceptance in Proquest and deliver approved submissions to Library Collections. Participates in Graduate School events including but not limited to commencement, orientation, workshops, conferences, and other programs assigned by the supervisor or leadership. Reports to the Associate Dean for Graduate Academic Affairs

Effective communication skills are important when working with all constituents including students with various backgrounds and experiences, faculty, and staff.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of academic advising or student academic record experience; OR master's degree and some academic advising or student academic record experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with a population with various backgrounds and experiences; strong interpersonal skills; strong time management skills; knowledge of customer service standards and procedures; knowledge and experience with personal computers and standard software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, database).


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Editorial and writing experience for business or academic publications. Experience with student information systems. Experience with CRM software (Slate, etc)
