Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Performance Nutrition assists the Director of Performance Nutrition in the development and coordination of optimal nutritional services for student athletes. Provides individual and team nutrition counseling and education. Assists in directing nutrition programming and communicating the value of nutrition specifically designed to benefit the student athlete.


Additional Department Summary: Assists with managing nutrition aspects for assigned teams. Assists the Assistant AD of Performance Nutrition with duties and responsibilities as assigned. Collaborates with administrative, coaching, and support staff to enhance the performance and health of student-athletes.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, exercise physiology, or other nutrition/ dietetics related degree and two (2) years of experience; OR master's degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, exercise physiology, or other nutrition/ dietetics related degree and some experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Registered Dietitian (RD) License in the State of Alabama in good standing.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Preferred Qualifications: Basic knowledge of NCAA Division I policies and procedures. Experience working with students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Experience in collegiate athletic environment.
