Job Summary: The Tide to Success Facilitator assists in the facilitation of a six-hour online ACT prep course for current high school students. Participates in virtual mandatory meeting with both parents and students on first day of class for each Tide to Success session. Provides feedback to participating students on activities and assignments. Monitors student participation during the course of each session. Participates in end-of-course meetings with the Program Manager after each course session ends to provide feedback on the course.


Additional Department Summary: Maintains regular contact with students via virtual, weekly check-in meetings. Logs in to the learning management system at least once daily throughout each session. Responds to student emails within 24-hours. Creates and posts timely announcements. Monitors login times for students and discuss any login trends during the weekly check-ins. Previews all activities, links, and quizzes in the learning management system prior to each session.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of K-12 experience; OR master's degree and some K-12 experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in the use of Blackboard Ultra and other resources as identified and needed for successful course delivery. Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) and internet skills. Ability to learn other systems and applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.


Preferred Qualifications: Current Alabama K-12 teaching certificate and three (3) years of teaching experience in K-12. Some experience teaching ACT concepts or familiarity with the ACT test. Some classroom experience in the areas of English, math, reading, or science. Holds a current Alabama Teaching Certificate for grades K-12. Currently resides in Alabama.
