Job Summary: The Athletic Creative Producer handles pre-production, production, and post-production responsibilities for a variety of Alabama Athletics recruiting, social media, and in-venue video content, under moderate supervision. Attends meetings with clients prior to video shoots to outline concepts, storyboards, etc. Develops scripts and shot lists. Directs various live events in video control room following proper etiquette and overall chain of command for a live environment. Logs and captures footage from shoots/shows. Edits footage into full feature videos. Creates graphics packages for videos.
Additional Department Summary: Produces various live productions, video features, recruiting video pieces, and highlight videos to be utilized on a variety of platforms. Travels and works on weekends and holidays as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of broadcast or multimedia editing and/or production experience; OR master's degree and some broadcast or multimedia editing and/or production experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of all current video software recognized as industry standards, such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Soundtrack Pro, and Motion. Knowledge of lighting techniques and positioning. Working knowledge of current video gear. Ability to design creatively and efficiently using the Macintosh operating system and appropriate software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In Design, Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, etc.). Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple active projects simultaneously. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and schedule work on several projects at once and maintain a constant, smooth flow of work. Working knowledge of control room equipment. Knowledge of production staffing and workflows.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in broadcast communication, telecommunication, film, journalism, graphic design, or closely related field. Experience with sports.
