Job Summary: The Creative Media Producer and Editor III produces a variety of visual storytelling content for the University through creative, digital, and traditional media under minimal supervision to promote and publicize the university, its entities, and administrators to all stakeholders with a particular focus on university branding, storytelling, and recruitment and retention of students. Creates, manages, and executes visual storytelling productions for high-visibility projects tied to the University's strategic vision. Works directly with clients to review and approve projects and prepare them for deployment. Provides training, guidance, and/or supervision to other Creative Media Producer and Editors.
Additional Department Summary: Creates compelling video content to support key strategic partners across the institution with a particular emphasis on undergraduate recruitment and fundraising. Engages in high-level video productions, including the annual institutional television commercial, and works to creatively influence the visual look of the UA brand. Shoots and edits video content of campus events (homecoming, commencement, etc.)
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and four (4) years of broadcast, multimedia production, communications, and/or media relations experience; OR master's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and two (2) years of broadcast, multimedia production, communications, and/or media relations experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: This position may work night and/or weekends. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. A portfolio, reel, or links to relevant video work samples will be requested.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners. Proficiency in shooting and editing a variety of video content. In-depth knowledge of industry-standard video equipment, cinematography, storytelling, lighting techniques, and conducting interviews. Comprehensive knowledge of Premiere Pro and working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. Understanding of social media platforms, including effectively utilizing video content on these platforms.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Canon cinema cameras, tripods, gimbals, audio, and studio equipment.
