Job Summary: The Research Assistant III assists with research work tasks of higher-complexity in support of a research project under minimal supervision. May assist with ordering equipment and supplies, set up of equipment, performing experiments, monitoring results, data collection, preparation of support materials, etc. May supervise students and/or other support workers assigned to the research project.
Additional Department Summary: Assists with several key aspects in the implementation of the activities for the ASPIRE Project Grant, including supporting the reporting processes, assisting with creating and writing reports for funders, and communicating with internal and external partner. Coordinates logistics of the summer residency. Works with the project team including a recruitment coordinator in recruiting and retaining students in Graduate Certificate in Transition and Interagency Practice. Develops and conducts information sessions, both on and off campus. Responds to telephone and electronic requests for information. Plans and delivers presentations to potential students and plan and implement student-focused events on campus. Assists with the advisement of students on campus. Works in collaboration with the ASPIRE Project team, academic advisor, and others on projects or initiatives designed to support the recruitment and retention of students.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Effective communication and writing skills. Basic computer skills such as word processing, email, keyboard and other typical office equipment, including a telephone. Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grant writing, management, and reporting requirements.
