How can you make a difference? 

The programme focuses on three key flagship priorities that include: advancing early childhood development and education; social inclusion of children with disabilities and increased participation and empowerment of young people. In line with the priorities outlined in UNICEF Kosovo Programme 2021-2025, the consultancy assumes primary responsibility for supporting communication and partnerships to promote UNICEF Kosovo Programme work with children and adolescents, increasing the engagement of people in social media, implement donor planned activities to achieve greater results for children and young people in Kosovo, through supporting communication and partnerships initiatives.

Scope of Work: Under the direct supervision of the Partnership and Communication Officer, the consultant will support UNICEF Kosovo Office.

• Public Awareness of UNICEF’s Work: Develop and disseminate content that informs the broader public about UNICEF’s mandate, its role in Kosovo, and the impact of its programs. Highlight success stories, ongoing projects, and opportunities for community involvement.
• Content Development and Publication: Develop and publish weekly engaging, youth and child-centered content across UNICEF Kosovo’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube).
• TikTok Account Launch and Management: Launch and manage UNICEF Kosovo’s official TikTok account, with content tailored to youth interests, trends, and challenges and collaborate with local TikTok creators and influencers for broader reach.
• Youth Collaboration: Co-create content with youth networks, volunteers, and creators. Conduct monthly content planning sessions with youth partners to reflect their priorities and ideas.
• Reporting and Analytics: Contribute to monthly digital analytics reports, including platform-specific insights, youth engagement trends, and content performance. Provide recommendations to optimize content based on analytics.

Deliverables/Outputs: Minimum of 2 awareness-focused posts per month, focused on increasing brand understanding and recognition

Deliverables/Outputs: 1 co-creation session/month; 30% of published content co-developed with youth

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Formal education in communication, mass communication or social studies preferable.
  • Good knowledge and experience in developing visual items, and other relevant skills.
  • Excellent command in English.
  • Available in short notice for the consultancy opportunity.
  • Excellent multi-tasker who can work both independently and with a team or supervisor. Social Media savvy in Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
