Strategic office context:
The Planning Monitoring and Information Management (PMI) section of the UNICEF Lebanon Country office is responsible for:
- The performance of UNICEF-supported programmes including their relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability, and in emergency contexts, their coverage, coordination and coherence.
- To support the programme team in the planning and monitoring of the various humanitarian action for children (HAC), Lebanon Response Plan (LRP) and other appeal documents to ensure full alignment,
- To assist in the establishment of monitoring tools which enhance integrated programmes, coherence, including with government and other key players to collectively track progress on the quality and delivery of programming for children.
- To assist in the development of national capacities for monitoring, research and data/ information management, with special attention to the interest, concern and participation of government, community (affected populations), and civil society
How can you make a difference?
The Planning and Monitoring Officer position provides technical support to programme sections, cross-cutting sections and field offices in their efforts in planning, monitoring and information management, that includes but not limited to development of country programme document, development of workplans, implementation and analysis of monitoring, results monitoring and third-party monitoring. The position is accountable to ensure the quality delivery of UNICEF programmes and as part of the monitoring function should work with the programmes to monitor programmes at the implementation sites both independently and with the programmes.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: A university degree in social sciences, development planning, planning, evaluation, survey implementation, statistics, research or any other relevant field.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in social development analysis and programming at the international and/or in a developing country is required.
- Skills:
- Relevant experience in program/project monitoring and evaluation in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
- Technical knowledge in routine monitoring systems; language is an asset.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of the French is an asset.

Eligible staff members on fixed-term, continuing or permanent contracts applying to IP TA positions in a duty station designated as L2/L3, may be able to retain a lien and their fixed-term entitlements, subject to approval by their Head of Office. The conditions of the temporary assignment will vary depending on the status of their post and relocation entitlements may be limited as per the relevant policies.
