How can you make a difference?
The purpose of the assignment is to assess the capacity of partners in delivering disability inclusive programming and to develop service referral pathways and protocols to enhance service delivery for persons with disabilities.
Scope of Work:
The proposed project responds directly to the Allocation Strategy’s objective of strategically complementing the mainstreaming of disability inclusion in ongoing projects. It aims to: (1) strengthen EORE delivery and mainstreaming to improve the safety of affected communities and humanitarian personnel; (2) support capacity strengthening to deliver a more disability-inclusive response; and (3) provide specialized assistance and services tailored to meet the differentiated needs of persons with disabilities and landmine/EO survivors. This project will focus on the second objective which is to support capacity strengthening to deliver a more inclusive response. Geographically, the project is operating in six townships in total: five townships in Sagaing (Kanbalu, Kale, Pale, Tamu, Monywa) and one township in Magway (Pakkoku). This project’s activities will involve an assessment of the selected organisations to ensure their facilities, services, policies and practices are inclusive for individuals (people and children) with disabilities. These audits will assess physical environments, such as buildings and pathways, to identify barriers and check for accessibility features like ramps and tactile indicators. In addition, the audit will also review the accessibility of information and communication services and examine organisational policies and practices to promote inclusivity. Each audit will result in a detailed report with findings and recommendations to enhance accessibility, with follow-up technical and capacity support provided for implementation.

The data gathered will be used to create a detailed directory and referral network that facilitates collaboration and resource sharing among these organizations. |

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- A Bachelor university degree in Gender studies, Development Studies, Public Health or related social sectors.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge and experience of conducting and documenting multi-dimensional accessibility audits and service mapping.
- Demonstrated experience in survey design, conducting research in the form of desk reviews, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses, report writing required.
- Demonstrated experience working in the disability sector and related service provision or research, particularly knowledgeable on the experience of persons/children with disabilities -Diplomacy and ability to communicate with stakeholders in an appropriate manner while building rapport.
- Ability to work independently managing tasks, deadlines and all relevant arrangements to ensure deliverables are achieved in a timely manner.
