For every child, partnerships 

UNICEF collaborates with the private sector—including corporations, philanthropies, and foundations—to drive meaningful change for children by leveraging funding, expertise, data, and broad consumer reach. The corporate fundraising team prioritizes high-value, long-term global partnerships where UNICEF holds a competitive edge. In Brazil, this effort is led by two teams: Key Accounts Management (KAM) and New Business Development. The KAM team, where this position is based, is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to existing corporate partners and expanding these relationships to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.

How can you make a difference? 

Working as part of the Key Account Management (KAM) team and under the close supervision of the Corporate Partnership Manager, the Corporate Alliances Officer will be responsible to drive, grow and renew corporate partnerships, with a focus on securing flexible resources.  Some key activities include:

Partner engagement:

  • Manage and develop partnerships with private sector companies in Brazil.
  • In close collaboration with other UNICEF areas, ensures timely and quality completion of commitments agreed with partners such as proposals, reports, communications, KPIs, etc.
  • Develop proposals and negotiate agreements towards renewals that both increase the value of partnerships and prioritize flexible income.
  • Define a cultivation plan to retain and strengthen the relationships with partners.
  • Conduct field visits with partners to engage and showcase the impact of the alliances, when necessary.
  • Flag risks and propose mitigation plans if needed.
  • Attend private sector events and forums to network with companies.
  • Identify and monitor industry trends as well as best practices at UNICEF network, including experiences from competitors with the goal to turn these into recommendations on how to strengthen our relationship with corporate partners.

Internal alignment and relationship building:

  • Build internal relationships to support partner stewardship (including but not limited to the following UNICEF sections: program, marketing, communication, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the New Business Development (NBD) team to ensure a successful handover process of new partnerships.
  • Adhere to internal guidelines and policies such as due diligence processes as part of the renewal of the partnership.
  • Contribute to the Corporate Partnerships plan to secure and increase high-value and long-term alliances, as well as flexible, sustainable, and predictable revenue as part of the overall Resource Mobilization & Partnerships (RM&P) Section.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements: 

Education: University degree preferably in marketing, publicity, communication, business administration, social sciences or another related field is required.

Work Experience: 

Minimum 01 year of relevant work experience in partnership development or project management related to marketing, sales, or other business-related activities and social development activities.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English and Portuguese required.

 Desirable:

At least 3 years of experience in working with new business development, partnership development, fundraising, sales and/or negotiation with companies will be an advantage.

More years of relevant experience is considered an asset.

Experience working in or with the private sector is considered an asset.

Knowledge of Spanish will be considered an asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
